Bywood students are developing critical thinking and problem solving skills as they learn about the elements of art and are making connections through observing numerous artists, cultures and their surroundings at home and school. The arts program provides experiences in drawing, painting, ceramics, fiber arts, printmaking and crafts. At Bywood we are trying to "Go Green" by using recycling items when possible and making children aware that art is everywhere in their life. For the second year Bywood has received a grant from the Comcast Foundation to provide one grade level a trip to the Brandywine River Art Museum in Chadds Ford, PA. Each year over 100 Bywood Students have their art displayed at the Annual District Art Show at Upper Darby High School.
