Michelle Piacentini-Kao was voted to the Upper Darby School Board in June 2024. She has been a lifelong resident of Upper Darby and attended Highland Park Elementary, Beverly Hills Middle School, and Upper Darby High School. She has an associate degree from Delaware County Community College, where she mentored incoming students. She and her husband, Sokha Kao, have three children in the Upper Darby School District. 

Mrs. Piacentini-Kao's career in the spa industry has been marked by success and leadership. Over the past six years, she has excelled as a manager, working for two different establishments. Her current role at a local skincare organization involves managing a team, facilitating regional training, supporting franchisees, coaching on grassroots marketing - showcasing her strong leadership and training skills. 

She has also been active in the Upper Darby School District and Upper Darby Township. She has been a member of the Home and School Association and has served on the Diversity and Equity Parent Forum at Highland Park Elementary School. She has also served on the Parks and Recreation Committee for the Township. 

Mrs. Piacentini-Kao values are deeply rooted in supporting the Arts of Upper Darby School District and special education. She firmly believes that all students should have the opportunity to learn in a safe and enjoyable environment, a belief that she is committed to as a School Board Director.
